HE CAME TO VINCERO WITH A DREAM
We first learned of Jack's journey when he entered our $5,000 Chase Your Legacy Challenge. Jack won the competition, and his dream was looking more and more like a reality.
PERMITS ARE NOT GUARANTEED
Permits to summit Mt. Whitney are few and far between. After countless hours of planning and training, Jack had everything set up to start the hike in September 2020. Unfortunately mother nature had other plans. Nearby wildfires cancelled his permit.
After not being awarded a permit during the 2021 lottery, he set his sights on a route that was much longer - 37 miles. He had been training for this for years, he knew this was his best chance to reach the peak.

A NEVER ENDING "SUFFER-FEST"
On August 3rd, Jack and his team left the parking lot and started the longest hike of their lives. Four days & 8,600 feet of elevation later, Jack reached the summit of Mt. Whitney. He was welcomed with applause from all of those who had passed him on the way up. Some took the time to check in with him and learn his story, others knew the magnitude of the moment based solely on Jack's reaction at the top.
THIS WAS SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST A HIKE.
If you can learn anything from Jack it's that the easy option is not the only option. So remember what he repeated over and over throughout his journey: Rage on. Stay focused. Believe.
