Behind The Design: The Outrider
We get a lot of inspiration from the classic watch categories. So when it came to creating our next collection, we had to turn to one of the most historical categories of watches, field watches. Originally designed for soldiers during WWI, field watches had to withstand extreme environments.
When we started designing The Outrider, we knew we had to pay homage to the history of field watches and update the category for today. The Outrider may not be battle-tested, but it's still one hell of a watch. Even if you're not a thrill-seeker, you'll still get a thrill putting it on. See how this exciting collection came to life.
What Makes A Field Watch?
When it comes down to it, a field watch needs to be two things: Durable, and reliable. Field watches are typically rugged, water-resistant, built to withstand a range of elements and temperatures, readable in the dark, and, of course, accurate. Remember, these were tools for soldiers; so it was all about function over form because it was a matter of life and death. Today, the stakes aren't as high, but the important features and complications that make up a field watch remain the same.
When we first conceptualized The Outrider over a year ago, we knew we wanted to keep all of the functions and update the form. It was a matter of keeping everything that made up the essence of the classic field watch and modernizing the look with our signature bold elements and a cool rugged look.
Behind The Design
Simply put, The Outrider is the ultimate exploration companion made to enhance every journey you take. Yes, it looks fire, but it also lives up to the history of field watches by being a seriously rugged tactical timepiece crafted with utility and durability in mind.
Inside The Outrider is a Seiko Mechanical Quartz movement making this watch extremely accurate and reliable. Moving out, you'll notice large numerals on the face for maximum legibility, and a chronograph design. This is all protected by a sapphire coated crystal glass for that extra layer of durability.
When you look further into the design, The Outrider has everything you need for your next adventure. The Outrider features Swiss lume in the numerals and hands on the face, so even in low-visibility situations, you can still see your watch. The Outrider also features a chronograph stopwatch, a rotating unidirectional bezel that can be used to track elapsed time, and a water-resistance up to 100 meters. We wanted to give you a watch that could tell time accurately whatever the circumstances, and the Outrider delivers on all fronts.
The Outrider was built to go where few people dare to venture, So don't be afraid to lead the way on your next adventure; the Outrider won't let you down. You'll never have to compromise your route, trail, or experience. The Outrider was made for the road less traveled. We hope you take it wherever you decide to explore next.
