I bought a birthstone pendant and initial, on a 23" chain. I couldn't be happier. I can't speak to the durability as I have only had my necklace for about a week. But I can say that I absolutely love it. The chain does not grab at my clothing, it isn't bulky, and I can hardly see that it's there, but I can feel that its there. For reference, I am 6'2", 265 pounds. The 23" is about as good as a "sitting point" as I could order "blindly". It is long enough so it is not a choke chain/visible while wearing a polo, but it is also short enough that it isn't swinging around everywhere. I would say it sits in the top 1/3rd of my sternum, which is perfect. I bought this birthstone pendant necklace in honor of my son. When times get tough, or life wants to hand me a curveball, I am able to just grab the pendant and this brings me back to my level base.
Short story long, I absolutely love this necklace, and hope it outlasts me. If I am blessed enough to have additional kids, I will be ordering their birthstone and initial as well. I would give it a 50 out of 10 stars. I couldn't be happier. Never really wore necklaces until now.
